Jared Goff

Jared Goff's 2026 Passing Surge Has Him Producing Like a QB1

Projection22.6pts / game
Season2026
UpdatedOctober 20, 2026

Goff is Detroit's No. 1 quarterback and gets his fantasy points almost entirely through the air. His legs add almost nothing. In each of the last three full seasons he ran no more than 35 times and never topped 56 rushing yards. This year it's 10 carries for 16 yards in five games, plus one rushing touchdown. His floor and ceiling depend on passing yards and touchdown passes, and he has stayed durable, playing all 17 games in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Through five games in 2026 he is averaging 23.0 PPR points per game. That is well above his full-season rates of 17.7 in 2023, 19.8 in 2024 and 17.9 in 2025. The jump comes from volume and scoring. He is throwing 38.2 passes per game, compared with 35.6, 31.7 and 34.0 in the prior three years. He is averaging 297 passing yards per game, where he had been around 270 in each of those seasons. His 12 touchdown passes come to 2.4 per game, higher than his 2.2 pace in 2024, his best recent year, and his 2.0 in 2025. His efficiency hasn't spiked. He is completing 67.0% of his passes, in line with 2023 and 2025 and below his 72.4% in 2024. The gains are coming from more attempts and more scores, not from a sharper per-throw profile.

Clutch Edge projects him for 22.6 points per game, 12th overall among QB/RB/WR/TE. That essentially bets on the current pace holding rather than a fall back to his 2025 level. His value comes from a stable starting job and a passing workload that is running higher than at any point in the last three years. Because he offers almost no rushing production, a quiet passing day leaves no backup source of points. The touchdown rate is the number to watch. At 2.4 per game it sits above anything he has posted recently, and the occasional rushing score is not something to count on. If his attempts drift back toward the 32-34 per game of his prior seasons, his output would likely settle closer to the 18-20 point range of past years. As long as the volume holds near 38 attempts, the projection looks supportable.
