Joe Burrow

Burrow's 2026 passing volume points back toward his 2024 ceiling

UpdatedOctober 20, 2026

Joe Burrow is Cincinnati's QB1 and gets almost all of his fantasy production through the air. Through five games in 2026 he has thrown 189 passes, about 37.8 per game, completing 71.4 percent for 1,361 yards (272.2 per game), 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. His legs add very little: 15 rushes for 48 yards and one score. He is a pocket passer whose weekly total depends on attempts, efficiency and how often drives end with him throwing for the touchdown.

The per-game numbers look much closer to his 2024 season than to 2023 or 2025. In 2024 he played all 17 games and averaged 22.5 PPR points, 289.3 passing yards, 2.5 touchdown passes and 38.4 attempts. That season finished as the QB4-level fantasy year in his recent history, with 381.8 points. His 2026 pace of 20.8 points per game is a bit behind that but clearly ahead of 2025 (17.4 per game across eight games, 226.1 yards and 32.4 attempts) and 2023 (15.3 per game across ten games, 230.9 yards, 1.5 touchdowns). His completion rate of 71.4 percent and 7.2 yards per attempt also top both of those seasons, though they trail the 7.5 he posted in 2024. His overall finishes of 122nd and 137th in 2023 and 2025 came in seasons where he appeared in only 10 and 8 games, so they say more about games played than about what he did per game.

Clutch Edge projects him for 19.6 points per game, 37th overall among QB, RB, WR and TE, which is slightly below the 20.8 he is producing now. His value comes almost entirely from passing volume and touchdown rate, so his floor holds up as long as he keeps throwing close to 38 times a game. The ceiling comes from multi-touchdown weeks like the 2.2-per-game pace he has now. Because he does not add rushing value, weeks where Cincinnati throws less or the touchdowns don't come leave little to fall back on. A rise in attempts toward his 2024 workload would push him toward that 22-point range. A dip toward his 2025 volume would pull him back under his projection. Availability matters too: he has played five games this season and has not appeared in a full slate since 2024.
