Jameson Williams
Jameson Williams keeps the deep role, but per-game output has slipped
Williams earns his fantasy points on chunk plays rather than volume. He has never averaged more than about six targets a game: 6.1 in 2024, 6.0 in 2025, and 5.8 through five games in 2026. His yards per reception (17.3 in 2024, 17.2 in 2025) shows a receiver who wins downfield and needs few catches to post a useful line. He is currently listed as the #2 at right receiver on Detroit's depth chart. Rushing has been a small extra in past seasons, with 11 carries in 2024 and 6 in 2025, but none appear in his 2026 line so far.
This season is running a little behind his last two. He is at 11.5 PPR points per game, down from 12.9 in 2025 and 14.1 in 2024, though still well ahead of the 6.7 he managed in 2023. Catches are steady at 3.6 per game against 3.8 last year. Yardage has dipped to 55.2 per game from 65.7, and yards per catch has come down to 15.3. The downfield usage has not disappeared. If anything, it has grown: his air yards work out to roughly 8.7 per target this season, compared with 6.6 in 2025 and 5.5 in 2024. So he is still being targeted deep, but fewer of those throws are turning into long gains. Red-zone usage is in line with his past at 3 targets in five games, and he has 2 touchdowns.
The fantasy and DFS case is about ceiling, not floor. With fewer than four catches a game, a quiet week is always possible, and his value depends on one or two long receptions or a touchdown. That suits tournament lineups better than lineups that need a safe score. The Clutch Edge projection of 15.5 points per game is higher than his per-game average in any season in this data, so rostering him at that number assumes the deep looks start converting at something closer to his 2024-25 efficiency.
A few things would change the read. More targets, consistently above the six-per-game range, would raise his floor. Movement on the depth chart would also matter. A rebound in yards per catch toward the 17 range would show the extra air yards are paying off. If the targets slide and the big plays stay scarce, his 2026 pace is a better guide than the projection.
